Not Gabriel, Not Gabriela

My name is Gabrielle “Gabby” Curran, and I am an avid reader, writer, New Yorker, and gamer. No matter what I do or where I go, I am drawn to the art of storytelling. I adore the works of Junot Diaz, Margaret Atwood, Cheryl Strayed, and Italo Calvino, all of whom significantly influenced my decision to pursue a career as a writer. I also love video games and consider them an extremely powerful storytelling medium. A few personal favorites from the genre include Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us, Guerrilla Games’s Horizon: Zero Dawn, and ConcernedApe’s Stardew Valley.

I am French-American and hail from Spanish Harlem. In 2021, I graduated from Fordham University’s Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, where I obtained my Master of Arts in English. I also hold a Bachelor of Arts in English with a concentration in creative writing and a minor in new media and digital design.
